Witch hazel is a unique shrub with a rounded shape. It has yellow fall color and yellow ribbon-like flowers that appear in late fall after the leaves drop. It can be planted as a stand-alone feature shrub or as a naturalized planting or border but should be protected from deer with welded wire fence or stakes for several years until it is established. Birds eat the small brown capsule seeds. It can survive in a wide range of soils. Full sun.
